DuBois Little League All Star Baseball:

The DuBois Little League Baseball All Star teams are continuing District 10 tournament play.

Thursday evening, the DuBois Senior All Stars shut out the All Stars from Smethport, Mt. Jewett, and Bradford, 15-0, at Showers Field. Those two teams will face each other again Saturday in the Senior District Tournament. Listen for live coverage of that game on Connect FM.

Tonight, the DuBois Major All Stars will be back in action following their 15-1 victory over the combo team of Smethport, Mt. Jewett and Kane in DuBois Wednesday. The DuBois Major All Stars will play the Potter-McKean All Stars at 6pm this evening. Listen live on Connect FM.

The DuBois 8 to 10 year-old All Stars knocked off the Smethport, Mt. Jewett, Kane combo team Thursday, 15-0. DuBois will face the Warren All Stars at Way Memorial Field on Saturday.

The DuBois Junior All Stars begin their district tournament next Friday. Those Junior Tournament games will come your way on Sunny 106.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates salvaged a game from their three-game set in Detroit Thursday night. In the second game of a doubleheader, the Bucs rallied in the 10th inning to down the Tigers, 8-4. Pittsburgh lost game one of the twin bill by a 9-2 mark.

The Pirates are back home to play their next three against Texas at PNC Park. The Bucs-Rangers game tonight is scheduled to start at 6:40.

Altoona Curve:

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve played only two innings of a Thursday doubleheader against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, before rain forced a suspension. The game will resume this afternoon at 5 with Richmond leading the Curve, 2-1. That will be followed by a seven-inning game. The second game of Thursday night’s doubleheader, which was a scheduled make-up from Tuesday night’s rainout, has been canceled.
