District 9 Baseball and Softball:

Baseball Playoffs –

Friday – Class A semifinals — DuBois Central Catholic 10, Port Allegany 2

Friday – Class A semifinals – Clarion 2, Elk County Catholic 1

Monday – Class A championship – DuBois Central Catholic 4, Clarion 1 – DCC will play in the first round of the PIAA playoffs on Monday, June 2nd

Friday – Class 2A semifinals – Curwensville 19, Moniteau 2

Monday – Class 2A championship – Redbank Valley 3, Curwensville 1

Monday – Class 4A , Districts 9 and 5 subregional – Punxsutawney 4, Somerset 1

Softball Playoffs –

Friday – DuBois Central Catholic 9, Otto-Eldred 0 – Class A, District 9 semifinal

Friday – Curwensville 7, Northern Potter 0 – Class A, District 9 semifinal

Monday – Class A District 9 championship – DuBois Central Catholic 4, Curwensville 2 (12 innings) – 6th straight D9 Class A title for DCC – The Lady Cardinals will play in the opening round of the PIAA playoffs on Monday, June 2nd.

Monday – Class 3A District 9 championship – St. Marys 7, Karns City 6 (9 innings)

Monday – Punxsutawney 6, Clearfield 5 – Class 4A, District 9 championship

Today – DuBois vs.Central Mountain — Class 5A, PIAA subregional playoffs

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates were shut out by the Arizona Diamondbacks last night, 5-0.

The Pirates play the D-Backs again tonight. The first pitch of the Bucs-Arizona game is set for 9:40. Listen for the pregame show on Connect FM this evening at 9:15.

Altoona Curve:

On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve salvaged one of their six games at Akron with a 1-0 win over the Rubber Ducks. The Curve are hosting the Portland Sea Dogs tonight through Sunday. The first pitch tonight at PNG Field in Altoona is scheduled for 6pm.
