District 9 Baseball and Softball:

MONDAY BASEBALL SCOREBOARD

Punxsutawney 2, DuBois 1 – Noah Farrell pitched a no-hitter for DuBois, but two of his walks turned into runs for the Chucks .

DuBois Central Catholic 10, Brockway 7 – Marek Hoyt, Brayden Fox, and Carter Himes each had a pair of hits for the Cardinals.

Elk County Catholic 5, Kane 0 – The Crusaders have now won 12 straight games.

DuBois 8, Punxsutawney 6 – Brielle Gray had three hits and scored twice for DuBois.

DH – Brockway 10, DuBois Central Catholic 6; Brockway 2, DuBois Central Catholic 1 – First Lady Rover softball wins over DCC in 10 years.

Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:

Both the baseball and softball Small College World Series for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association got underway in DuBois Monday.

The number two seed baseball team, Penn State DuBois, got past their first world series opponent, Penn State Schuylkill, by a score of 6-5. Penn State DuBois is scheduled to play The Apprentice School at 7 this evening.

The Penn State DuBois softball team, the number three seed in this week’s Small College World Series, knocked off Bay Path University, 11-4, Monday at Heindl Field. Penn State DuBois is now scheduled to go up against Florida National at 6 this evening.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Mets, 4-3, in New York last night. Game two of the series is tonight with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10. Listen for the pregame show on Connect FM at 6:45.

 

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve open a home series with Harrisburg this evening at 6pm.
