Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:
The baseball and softball Small College World Series for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association begins today in DuBois.
The Penn State DuBois baseball team is the number two seed in the series. Penn State DuBois plays their first game at Showers Field this afternoon, and their first world series opponent will be either Penn State Schuylkill, or Miami Middletown.
The Penn State DuBois softball team is the number three seed in this week’s Small College World Series. Penn State DuBois is scheduled to face Bay Path University today at Heindl Field.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates claimed their weekend series over Atlanta with two wins. Sunday, the Pirates beat the Braves, 4-3. The Bucs are in New York to take on the Mets in a three-game series. Tonight’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:10. Listen for the pregame show on Connect FM at 6:45.
Altoona Curve:
On Sunday, the Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve won the final game of their six-game set in Erie, 3-2. The Curve will open a home series with Harrisburg Tuesday evening at 6pm.
