District 9 Baseball and Softball:

THURSDAY BASEBALL SCOREBOARD

Clearfield 6, DuBois 4 – Christian Welker and Colton Bumbarger each had two hits for the Bison, while both Madix Clark and Noah Farrell produced two hits for DuBois.

Williamsburg 12, Curwensville 2

Elk County Catholic 6, Port Allegany 4

 

THURSDAY SOFTBALL SCOREBOARD

DuBois 12, Clearfield 2 – The Lady Beavers tallied nine runs in the fifth inning to secure the win. Audrey Hale and Haley Reed both recorded two hits for DuBois.

Brockway 16, Brookville 4 – Meeca Smtih, Ella Reitz, and Payton Craft each smacked three hits for the Lady Rovers who are now 10-and-1.

Punxsutawney 15, Karns City 4

 

Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:

The Penn State DuBois baseball team puts a 23-and-6 overall record on the line today in a home double-header against Penn State Beaver.

Also this afternoon, Penn State DuBois softball is scheduled to play a double-header at Penn State Hazleton.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates lost game three of their road series with the LA Angels last night, 4-3. Tonight, the Bucs face the Dodgers in LA. Listen for the pregame show at 9:45. The first pitch of the Pirates-Dodgers match up is set for 10:10 on Connect FM.

 

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve won their fifth straight game Thursday night, upending the Chesapeake BaySox, 8-5. The Curve and BaySox play the fourth game of their six-game series at Prince George’s Stadium in Maryland at 7:05 tonight.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers – NFL Draft:

In the first round of the NFL draft last night the Pittsburgh Steelers selected the defensive lineman out of Oregon, Derrick Harmon. Last season, Harmon recorded 45 tackles and five sacks.
