Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:
The Penn State DuBois baseball team swept Kent State Tuscarawas in a Saturday double-header at Showers Field. Penn State DuBois won the first game, 23-2, and completed the sweep with a 10-0 victory in the second game.
The Penn State DuBois softball team claimed a pair of wins at Allegany College of Maryland on Friday. Penn State DuBois won game one, 8-7, and game two, 14-6.
PIAA Basketball Playoffs
Friday night, the District 9 Class A basketball champs, Otto-Eldred, lost their PIAA playoffs semifinal round matchup against Neighborhood Academy of the WPIAL, 55-38. The Terrors’ finished the season with a record of 28-2.
Penn State Wrestling:
The Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling team has won the national championship … again. It is the 12th time in the past 15 seasons that Penn State has claimed the team title.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their Sunday spring training game to Toronto, 2-1. The final spring training game for the Bucs is this afternoon against Minnesota. The Pirates open the regular season in Miami on Thursday,. Tune in for the pregame show on Connect FM at 3:45. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:10pm.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the Florida Panthers in a shootout Sunday, 4-3. The Penguins play Tampa Bay Tuesday night. The Pens-Lightning pregame show starts at 6:30, and the opening face-off is scheduled for 7 … on Sunny 106 and Connect FM.
