Penn State DuBois Baseball and Softball:
The Penn State DuBois baseball team fell to Grove City College yesterday, 4-1. Penn State DuBois managed only two hits against the Wolverines. Thursday, Penn State DuBois is scheduled to host Central Maine. … On Friday, the Penn State DuBois softball team is scheduled to start the regular season with a double-header scheduled at Allegany College in Maryland.
PIAA Basketball Playoffs
One District 9 basketball team is still alive in the PIAA playoffs semifinal round. The D9 Class A boys champs, the Otto-Eldred Terrors, will tip off for the Class A Western Pennsylvania championship against Neighborhood Academy of the WPIAL this Friday night at 7 in Erie.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates upended the Philadelphia Phillies, 3-2, in a spring training game on Tuesday. Only five more tune-up games remain before the Bucs open the regular season in Miami on Thursday, March 27th,. Today, the Pirates will face Tampa Bay.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins were doubled-up by the New York Islanders, 4-2, Tuesday night. Next for the Pens is a Friday night home game with Columbus. The Penguins-Blue Jackets pregame show starts at 6:30, and the opening face-off is scheduled for 7 Friday evening … on Connect FM and Sunny 106.
