BOYS
Class 4A – Saturday – D9 champion Clearfield will play Obama Academy of District 8 in a subregional playoff game
Class A – Saturday – D9 championship game – Elk County Catholic vs. Otto-Eldred
GIRLS
Class A (Wednesday) – DuBois Central Catholic 50, Coudersport 30 – semifinal round – Hope Jacob scored 17 points to lead the Lady Cardinals – DCC will play Otto-Eldred Saturday for the Class A championship
Class 4A – Friday – Clearfield, the District 9 champs, will face Carrick of District 8 in a subregional playoff matchup
Class 5A (Wednesday) – Punxsutawney 60, Obama Academy 42 – District 9, 8, and 10 subregional playoff game – the Lady Chucks will play Cathedral Prep for the subregional title on Saturday
Penn State DuBois Basketball:
The Penn State DuBois men’s basketball team will be playing for the PSUAC championship. The men’s team defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny Wednesday night, 84-70. The Penn State DuBois men will go for the title on Sunday.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates split their spring training split-squad games yesterday in Florida. The Bucs beat Baltimore 7-3, but lost to Atlanta, 9-4. Today, the Pirates play a tune-up game against the Minnesota Twins.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins try to regroup from a lopsided loss at Philadelphia on Tuesday. The Pens are on a four-game losing streak as they host the Flyers tonight. The pregame show starts at 7. The Penguins-Philly opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 tonight on Connect FM and Sunny 106.
