District 9 Basketball Playoffs

BOYS

Class 5A – Thursday – DuBois 57, Punxsutawney 42 – The Beavers’ first District 9 title in basketball since 2000 … Noah Farrell scored 19 points to lead DuBois … next for DuBois is a District 9 and 10 subregional contest against Meadville on Tuesday

Class 4A – Thursday – St. Marys 32, Bradford 26 – St. Marys will play Clearfield for the District 9 Class 4A championship on Tuesday

GIRLS

Class 4A – Thursday – St. Marys 37, Bradford 27 – Lady Dutch scoring was led by Taylor Gornati’s 11 points … St. Marys and Clearfield will play for the District 9 4A title on Tuesday

Class A – DuBois Central Catholic vs. Cameron County (TONIGHT); and Elk County Catholic vs. Clarion-Limestone (TONIGHT)

Class 3A – Brookville vs. Cranberry (TONIGHT)

Penn State DuBois Basketball:

The Penn State DuBois basketball teams will wrap up their regular season schedules today as they host Penn State New Kensington. The women’s game begins at 3, and the men are set to tip off at 6pm.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates are closing out a full week of workouts at their spring training facility in Bradenton, Florida today. Tomorrow, the Bucs will have their first spring training game against Baltimore with the first pitch scheduled for 1:05. Tune in for Pirates baseball on Connect FM.

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The 4 Nations Tournament is history, and the Pittsburgh Penguins will get back to their regular season schedule tomorrow. The Pens face the Washington Capitals at 1pm. Tune in for Penguins hockey on Sunny 106.

The Pens return to action tied with Philadelphia in the basement of the NHL’s Metropolitan Division. Pittsburgh has 55 points with a record of 23-25-and-9.
