College Basketball:

The Penn State DuBois men’s basketball team dropped a pair of games on the road over the weekend … 91-68 against Penn State Mont Alto, and it was an 85-84 loss to Penn State York. The Penn State women’s basketball team also came up short against Penn State Mont Alto, 52-45. Penn State DuBois women fell to Penn State York, 55-50.

 

PIAA Football Championships

CLASS 2A (Friday)

D9 Champ Central Clarion lost a heart-beaker, 25-24, against Troy in the state title game. Wildcats’ quarterback Jase Ferguson was limited to 189 passing yards, and 47 rushing yards in the game. Central Clarion ended the season with a 14-1 record.

College Football:

The Penn State Nittany Lions were outgunned by Oregon, 45-37, in the Big 10 Conference championship Saturday night. With an 11-2 record, Penn State will enter the college football playoff bracket the number 6 seed, and will host 11th seeded SMU December 21st at Noon.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers knocked off the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, 27-14. The win gives the Steelers a 10-and-3 record, and a first place standing in the AFC North.

 

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins notched a 5-2 win over Toronto Saturday.
