Some good news regarding the Pittsburgh Pirates … on Monday, pitcher Paul Skenes was named the National League’s Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award winner by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Skenes had an historic rookie season with an 11-3 record, a1.96 ERA, and 170 strikeouts in 133 innings. Skenes becomes only the second Pirate to be named Rookie of the Year … Jason Bay received the honor 20 years ago.

Pittsburgh Steelers:
Powered by six field goals, the Pittsburgh Steelers nipped rival Baltimore Sunday, 18-16. The win puts the Steelers atop the AFC North Division. It will be a short week of practice for Pittsburgh as they prepare to play the Browns in Cleveland Thursday night. Kickoff time is 8:15.
