District 9 / PIAA Baseball and Softball Playoffs:
Only one District 9 team will play in the semifinal round of the PIAA baseball and softball playoffs. That team is the Clarion Bobcats in Class A baseball.
The Bobcats will play Eden Christian in the state semifinals later today.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pirates welcomed the Phillies to PNC Park for a weekend series, winning both Saturday’s and Sunday’s games 5-4 then 2-1
The Bucs face off against the Miami Marlins tonight. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm, tune in for the pregame show on Connect FM this evening at 6:15pm.
Altoona Curve:
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve faced off against New Hampshire twice on the 7th for a make-up game falling short 5-2 and 4-0. The Curve came back on Sunday Beating out New Hampshire 11-5.
They next face off against the Erie Sea Wolves at Altoona.
