Save the date…Saturday, March 28th is Youth Mentored Fishing Day in Pennsylvania’s Great Outdoors Region. This special day is designed to give youth a chance to fish in PA’s stocked trout waters ahead of the Opening Day of Trout Season on Saturday, April 4th.
Location: Stocked Trout Waters in Cameron, Elk, and Forest Counties.
Age Requirement: Youth must be under 16 years old
Permit: Youth need a Mentored Youth Permit or a Voluntary Youth Fishing License
Adult Accompaniment: Youth must be accompanied by a licensed adult angler
Catch Limit: Youth can take a total of two trout (combined species) with a minimum length of 7 inches
Cost: The Mentored Youth Permit is free, while the Voluntary Youth License costs $2.97
Purchase: Youth can obtain their permit or license through HuntFish.PA.gov or at a licensing agent
The Mentored Youth Trout Day is a great opportunity for youth to learn about fishing and the natural resources of Pennsylvania. It is also a way to support youth programs and ensure that youth fishing is safe and enjoyable.
