
UNDATED — Some good news regarding the Pittsburgh Pirates … on Monday, pitcher Paul Skenes was named the National League’s Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award winner by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Skenes had an historic rookie season with an 11-3 record, a1.96 ERA, and 170 strikeouts in 133 innings. Skenes becomes only the second Pirate to be named Rookie of the Year … Jason Bay received the honor 20 years ago.
