Amanda Seyfried is pumped that her new horror film Things Heard & Seen hits Netflix today because she’s a scary movie junkie herself.
Speaking with ABC Audio, the Oscar-nominated actress revealed that horror films are her go-to movies.
“I’m totally into [horror,]” she confessed. “I love scary movies. It’s the first genre that I’m looking at when I turn on Netflix.”
That said, Things Heard & Seen explores and exploits another subject Amanda is fascinated with — the paranormal — because she is a big believer in ghosts.
However, while her character, Catherine, in the Netflix film is haunted by something sinister after moving into a haunted house, Amanda admits she’s still waiting to experience some real-life supernatural spooks.
“I haven’t seen a ghost. I probably will never see a ghost,” she lamented. “I don’t need to see it to believe it.”
So, how did she enjoy acting in a movie that ticks off the boxes on her horror wish list? Amanda admits she had a hair-raising good time.
“I like to be scared. I know it’s not real,” she smiled. “It’s like being an actor, you know, there are no real consequences to your actions when the cameras rolling, as the character.”
Things Heard & Seen, also starring James Norton, Stranger Things’ Natalia Dyer and Rhea Seehorn is available to watch now on Netflix.
