Walter J. LaBorde, age 89 of Sykesville, PA died Sunday, November 1, 2026 at his home.
Born on September 5, 1937 in Sykesville, PA, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Lucinda (Dixon) LaBorde. Walter was a graduate of Sykesville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On December 26, 1959 he married Candace J. (Himes) LaBorde. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2025. Walter retired from Berg Electronics after 25 years of service. He enjoyed feeding the birds, and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Walter is survived by three children (Christine Quashnock and her husband Alan of DuBois, PA; Thomas LaBorde and his wife Bonnie of Sykesville, PA, and Cathy Loomis and her husband Ben of Sykesville, PA) four grandchildren (Noelle, Dalton, Garrett, and Hannah), six great-grandchildren (Whitley, Jayde, Keilee, Eleia, Aiden and Alyssa), and one sister (Gertrude Yohe of Olean, NY).
He was preceded in death by two brothers Richard and Robert LaBorde.
There will be no public visitation and a service will be held at the convenience of the family.
