Lois T. Brady

Lois T. Brady, age 94 of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Born on March 21, 1932 in Mahanoy City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Unsinn Scheuren. She was married to William “Bill” Brady. He preceded her in death.

Lois worked in the office of Dr. Raymond Francis for many years. A devout and lifelong Roman Catholic, Lois's faith was the bedrock of her existence. She was a dedicated parishioner of Saint Catherine of Siena, where she lived out the Gospel through quiet acts of service, kindness, and deep devotion to the Rosary and the Eucharist. Her servant’s heart meant she was the first to volunteer for funeral dinners, or comforting friends and neighbors in need. Lois possessed a rare gift for making everyone she met feel like family. Her love for people was matched only by her profound love for food and the joy of gathering around the table. To Lois, cooking and baking were not just hobbies, but sacred acts of love. Her kitchen was a warm, welcoming sanctuary where no one ever left hungry, and every meal came with a generous helping of laughter, storytelling, and hospitality. Her greatest joy, however, was her role as “Nana”. Lois had the extraordinary ability to make each and every grandchild feel uniquely loved and cherished. She took the time to truly know their hearts, celebrating their individuality, milestones, and dreams. As they grew into adulthood, her bond with them only deepened. She remained an anchor in their lives, always ready for a conversation over the phone or a cup of coffee, offering her wisdom and unconditional love. She is survived by her loving children; Rick Brady and his wife Lisa, Karen Gatti and her husband Mark, her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sister, Mary Veracco, and a community of friends whose lives she profoundly enriched. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Brady Welsch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 10 AM from Holy Spirit Parish at St. Catherine of Siena with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant. Internment will take place in Saint Catherine Cemetery, DuBois, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DuBois Ministerial Food Pantry, PO Box 157, DuBois, PA 15801, reflecting Lois’s lifelong commitment to feeding and caring for others.
