DUBOIS – A DuBois woman is facing murder charges for the death of a four year-old child in 2025.
On December 20th 2025 police say the child’s parents took them to the emergency room where the child was pronounced dead.
Police then spoke to 36 year-old Sarah Brubaker who claimed the child had not eaten for two weeks, had balance problems, and was weak. When questioned further, she told police that they could not afford food.
In August of 2026 the child’s autopsy report ruled their death a homicide listing the cause of death as a bacterial infection in the colon due to neglect.
Following the autopsy, police took Brubaker to the Clearfield County Jail where she faces third degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child, and recklessly endangering another person charges.
