BROCKWAY – A Brockway duo are facing several charges after allegedly physically abusing a one year-old child.
On June 4th police began an investigation into reports that a one year-old boy was physically abused at a Hope Street Residence in DuBois.
Police then learned the boy had several bruises and both ears were infected. The boy’s mother, 22 year-old Alison Young, and her boyfriend, 24 year-old Robby Burbaker, claimed the child fell while outdoors and claimed they covered the child’s mouth when crying to make him breath through his nose.
Police say that the duo later turned themselves in claiming the bruises came from spanking the child, and that they were aware of the infection but did not seek medical treatment.
Both are now facing felony strangulation, aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
