UNDATED – Over $1.7 million dollars in state gaming revenue is headed to projects in Elk and Clearfield Counties.
The funding will help pay for road paving, snow removal equipment, police vehicles, fire and ambulance upgrades, and improvements to public facilities.
Major projects include $290,000 dollars to support renovations at the DuBois YMCA and to purchase new police vehicles. St Marys is receiving almost $370,000 dollars to replace a wheelchair ramp and upgrade the ambulance services building. With Johnsonburg receiving over $300,000 dollars to renovate the historic Armstrong Theater and incorporate a new public plaza.
A full list of projects is below:
- Bloom Township, $274,000 to demolish an existing salt storage shed and construct a new one.
- Curwensville Borough, $136,641 to purchase a dump truck with plow and spreader for snow removal.
- City of DuBois on behalf the local YMCA branch, $207,737 to renovate the building for increased fire safety, handicapped accessibility and other needs.
- City of DuBois, $90,000 to purchase police vehicles.
- Ferguson Township, $127,500 to study the potential re-use of municipally owned property.
- Grampian Borough on behalf of the Grampian-Penn-Bloom Volunteer Fire Co., $36,942 to purchase a utility vehicle for isolated and inaccessible areas.
- Huston Townshp, $117,924 to purchase a dump truck with a snowplow and salt spreader.
- Huston Township, $94,668 to purchase a wheel loader.
- Jay Township, $145,282 to replace a dump truck.
- Jay Township, $46,000 to build a temperature-controlled shed to store wastewater equipment and other materials.
- Johnsonburg Borough, $304,990 to renovate the historic Armstrong Theater and incorporate a new public plaza.
- Penn Township, $297,422 to pave Tree Farm Road T-481.
- St. Marys City on behalf of the Benzinger Township Municipal Golf Course, $27,724 to replace the golf course’s wheelchair-accessible ramp.
- St. Marys City on behalf of St. Marys Area Ambulance Services, $340,506 to upgrade the ambulance services building.
- Union Township, $128,022 to purchase a work truck.
