Lois M. Haag, age 85 of Sykesville, PA died Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the home of her son in Punxsutawney, PA.
Born on January 25, 1941 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Etta J. (Clark) Varner. She was a graduate of Penn State University. Lois retired from Clearfield Jefferson Mental Health/ Mental Retardation after 15 years of service. Previous to that, she had worked at Intermediate Unit #10 in the Literacy Program. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Lois enjoyed playing Mah Jongg with her friends at Christ the King Community Center, quilting, and was a talented artist. She was a member of the National Mah Jongg League, and the Piece Makers Quilt Group. In her younger years, Lois loved to fly, and was an amateur pilot.
She is survived by one son, Gary Haag and his wife Brittany of Punxsutawney, PA, and one daughter, Amy J. Ford and her husband Rocco of Brockway, PA, six grandchildren; Dustin, Dillon, Brandy, Rocco, Jr., Michael, and Caroline, and three great grandchildren; Waylon, Daisy, and Colter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor David Holtz officiating. Burial will be in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
