Joseph F. “Joe” Valent III age 88 a Beechtree Road DuBois, PA resident, died on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA.
Born on April 18, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio; he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Elizabeth Vash Valent Jr. Joe was a graduate of the John Adams High School in Cleveland.
On April 12, 1978 he was married to Ada Weaver and she survives. Retired, he had been employed as a Receiver at Shop ‘n Save in DuBois for over 14 years. Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of The Handgunners, Inc. in Brockway and was a life long member of the NRA. He also was a past president of the DuBois Kiwanis serving in the 1980’s.
In addition to his wife Ada, he is also survived by sisters Mary Sue Fry of Chardon, Ohio and Valarie Macejko of Cleveland; numerous brother and sister-in-law’s to numerous to name them all, and many many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother Ted Valent.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 16 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Terry Felt officiating. There will also be a visitation on Thursday, September 17 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Sly Family Funeral Home in Middlefield, Ohio. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 18 at 11:00 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio.
