William “Bill” Alfred Mansfield Sr., 79, of Brookville, PA, passed away on September 8, 2026, while at his home.
Bill was born on July 30, 1947, to the late David Franklin and Ida (Horst) Mansfield in McKeesport, PA. He graduated from Brookville Area High School. Bill proudly served with the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked for the telephone companies in Brookville and retired from Windstream.
Bill married Pamela “Pam” Sue Maihle on October 10, 1970, in Sigel United Methodist Church; Pam survives him. Bill attended the President Chapel in Tionesta. In Bill’s younger years, he was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed riding his mower and playing putt-putt with his grandchildren. Bill was one for conversation; he would talk for hours if you’d listen. Above all else, Bill was most proud of his family, and he loved to spend time with them.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by two children: Wendy Sue Mansfield-Perry and William A. Jr. (Margaret “Aileen”) Mansfield; one sister: Mary (Ben) Woldorf; one brother: Harry (Gayle) Mansfield. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Amanda Perry, Abigayle McClellan, Brian McClellan Jr., Josi Mansfield, Tessa Mansfield; and his blended family: Patrick (Becky) Beiter, Matthew (Andrea) Beiter; Aubrey Beiter, and Evan Beiter. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in passing by one brother: David Mansfield; and one sister: Shirley Mansfield.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11am to 1pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing, beginning at 1pm. Military Honors will be rendered. Interment will take place at Brookville Cemetery, Brookville, Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the President Chapel, 230 President Village, Tionesta, PA 16353 or to a veteran association of the donor’s choice.
