Albert Thomas “Tom” Walter, 78, of Sigel, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, while at his home.
Tom was born on December 17, 1947, to the late Pearl L and Nettie F. (Rankin) Walter in Corsica, PA. He graduated from Clarion – Limestone Area School District with the Class of 1966. He worked for Sealy Posturepedic as a truck driver.
Tom married Carol A Miller on August 23, 1980, in Fisher, PA; Carol survives him. Tom was a member of the F.O.E. 983 Eagles in Brookville and the Presbyterian Church in Fisher, PA. Tom was a hardworking, hands-on man who enjoyed staying busy and making things with his own two hands. He was an avid woodworker and took great pride in the projects he created. He also loved NASCAR and could often be found watching a race and following the excitement of the sport. When Tom wasn’t in his workshop or watching NASCAR, he enjoyed taking his Gator out for a ride, visiting with neighbors, and enjoying the simple pleasures of being outdoors. Those rides often gave him an excuse to stop and talk, catch up with friends, and see what was going on around the neighborhood. Tom was a man who enjoyed good conversation, familiar faces, and the comfort of home. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his willingness to lend a hand, his love for the simple things in life, and the special way he made time for the people around him. Above all, he was a devoted family man whose presence, laughter, and stories will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by three children: Tommy A. (Amy) Walter, Heidi S. (Tim) Clark, Laurie A. (Mike) LaScola; three siblings: Glennie (Wayne) Campbell, P.L. (Martha) Walter, Blueni (Robert) Hannold; five grandchildren: Kriszandra, Samantha, Lara, Travis, and Ashley. Tom is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Peyton, Lily, Lachlan, Ezra, Fitz, and Ellis. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in passing by eight siblings: Dorothy, Floyd, Lester, Richard, Ronald, Kay, Linda, and Roger.
All services will be held privately to his family and have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
