UNDATED – Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson is pushing new legislation to protect American farmland from being taken through eminent domain.
The “Not in my Barnyard” act would, if approved, prevent the federal government from taking agricultural land if there is an alternative site available.
Thompson says that this would keep productive farmland in use, enforce food security, and keep the economy of rural communities.
The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau is also backing the bill.
