Hazel F. Salada, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Highland View Rehabilitation Healthcare Center in Brockway, PA.
Born on August 2, 1933 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Irvin H. and Mae C. (Dusch) Yount. On June 24, 1956 she married her husband of 55 years, Jack D. Salada. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2012.
Hazel worked alongside of her husband and her sons at Jack Salada Plumbing and Heating and had worked at Weaver Auto Parts previous to that.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she was active in church affairs. Hazel loved crossword puzzles, traveling with her husband , and most importantly, following her grandchildren and their many events and activities. She never missed an event.
Hazel is survived by her two sons; Donald C. Salada and Gary R. Salada , both of DuBois, PA, two grandchildren; Sonya Cujdik and her husband Sean of Lumberton, NJ and Paige Gregory and her husband Shawn of Grampian, PA, and three great grandchildren. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Hazel was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Salada.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor David Holtz officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
