Carl Richard “Dick” Fiddler age 84 of Brockway, PA; passed away peacefully August 16, 2026 at Penn Highlands Brookville with his loving wife beside him.
Born on October 30, 1941 in Brockway, PA; he was the son of the late Carl V. and Ruth (Gorham) Fiddler.
On January 17, 1965 he was married to his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Barraclough. She survives.
Dick joined the Navy in 1960 and served 4 years active duty aboard the William C Lawe. He was serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Always being patriotic, he also served in the Navy Reserves until 2025. He was a member of Parson-Marnati Post 3 95 of the American Legion in Brockway and served proudly on the Funeral Burial Honor Guard until his health prevented him.
He began working at Brockway Glass Factory in 1965. He moved to the office division and worked in production planning until he retired from OI Glass Container division in the year 2000. He was always concerned about providing for his family.
Dick was a Dodge man, which he learned from his dad’s garage on Main Street in Brockway. He was always proud of the fact that he and his dad customized a car and painted it candy apple red. He also had an avid interest in coins and was a member of Brockway Hand Gunners. He worked some with the Boy Scouts and the Brockway Historical Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 daughter, Kim (Scott) Rupley and 2 granddaughters Bethany Rupley and Andrea Rupley. Also surviving is a sister, Nancy Gallus.
A Celebration to Life Ceremony will be held on his birthday in October. More details will be provided close to that time.
