Dorothy Arlene (Plyler) Moore, 77, of Brookville, PA, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026. Dorothy was born on June 29, 1949, to the late Edgar George and Caroline Olive (Plyler) Lindenmuth in Beechwoods, PA. She married Oscar Fredrick Moore on August 17, 1966. She had a long-term partner: William E. Sarvey who was a huge part in her and her children’s lives. Dorothy was a homemaker, taking care of her family and home. She was a loving mother and always cared for others before herself. Dorothy was a past member of the Fireman’s Club and Eagles, both in Brookville. She may have been stubborn, but she would do anything for anyone. She loved her cat: Precious. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, crafting, and painting ceramics. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed reading her cat ‘Precious’ magazines, and the newspaper, and she enjoyed cooking and baking. Dorothy is survived by five children: Raenette (Conrad) Barther, Fred Moore, Dave (Kimberly) Moore, Jim (Kymberly) Moore, Amy Moore; six sisters: Violet, Mary, Charlotte, Sally, Halenna, and Melvina; thirty grandchildren: Jessica (Nathaniel) Fike, Timmy Patton, Cody Heatherdale, Catrina (Dylan) Heatherdale, Cole (Sidney) Heatherdale, Cara (Cody) Heatherdale, Ethan (Justina) Moore, Jake (Katie) Kaiser, Steve Piazza, Cody Brooks, Cody Confer, David Moore, Damian Moore, Devin Moore, Gavin Moore, Jordan Moore, Cameron Irwin, Michael Shreckengost, Alexis Shreckengost, Ashley Solida, Brian Moore, Jimmy Moore, Tristan Moore, Aubrey Dinger, Gage Dinger, Lakyn Freemer, Linsey Freemer, Logan Freemer, Enzo Freemer, Liberty Freemer. She is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren: Cameron, Kali, Bailey, Gavin, Zane, Liam, Hayden, Jayden, Octavia, Zeke, Calan, Jasper, Elliot, Sophie, Steven, Maddox, Paysley, Nyia, Patrick, and James. She is also survived by a very close friend and neighbor: Tami Shirey. In addition to her parents, husband, and Bill, Dorothy is preceded in passing by one grandson: Ryan Kaiser; three sisters: Barbara Jean, Vera, and Margaret; two infant brothers; and an infant sister. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 11am to 1pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing, beginning at 1pm and officiated by Pastor Jimmy Swogger.
