Daniel E. Smith, age 56, of DuBois, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Altoona Veteran’s Hospital, in Altoona, PA.
Born on May 28, 1970, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Robert E. Smith and Betty (Lockwood) Smith, his mother survives.
Dan was married to Heidi (Rowe) Smith she preceded his passing on March 13, 2020.
He graduated from Jeff Tech, attended Shepards Grace Chapel, was a member of the DuBois V.F.W. and enjoyed working on computers.
Dan was a proud veteran, serving in the Army National Guard and then Marine Corps..
He is survived by his family; daughter Danielle Nicole Smith of Indiana, PA., son William R. Smith of Punxsutawney, PA, brother Michael Smith of Sykesville, PA., and mother Betty Smith of DuBois, PA.
In addition to his father and wife, he was also preceded in passing by a brother Timothy Smith.
Friends and family will be received at the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 3:00-5:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. A service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Greg Sands officiating and the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
