DUBOIS – Data centers are becoming a growing concern across Pennsylvania, with questions about their impact and if they are coming locally.
In DuBois, City Manager Joe Fleming says the city has not been approached about a data center, but officials are looking to tackle the issue proactively.
He went on to say that the city is considering whether changes to its zoning may be needed if a proposal does come forward.
“And to ensure, because we have to be kind of ahead of it. Especially since it’s a very strong topic throughout the state,” explained Fleming.
Any potential changes or proposals would be considered by the solicitor and City Council before moving forward.
