Josephine A. Thompson, 94, of Sykesville, passed away on August 12, 2016.
Born on June 23, 1932, in Sykesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Damico) DePillo.
On September 25, 1965, she married Robert Thompson, who survives at home.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kim (Tom) Anderson and Tammy (Bill) Douthit of Stump Creek, PA; three grandchildren, Alicia (Travis) Tucker of Stump Creek, PA, Katrina (Jeremy) Harriger of Reynoldsville, PA, and Aaron (Carly) Douthit of Wexford, PA; seven great‑grandchildren, McKenzie Tucker, Reagan Douthit, Camden Harriger, Elias Douthit, Tori Harriger, and Louella Douthit. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Josephine was a member of the Holy Spirit ABVM Church in Sykesville. She enjoyed doing work for the church, baking, scratching lottery tickets, going to the casino, shopping, and most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tony DePillo, and four sisters, Mary Ohls, Celia Padgett, Rose Heffner, and Peg McAninch.
There will be no visitation and services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Reyn-Sykes EMS Co-op Ambulance, Sykesville Fire Department, or the Rosary Society and will be accepting online condolences at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville website (www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
