Terry E. Cassatt, age 82, of Summerville, PA, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised on a farm, he developed a strong work ethic and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. He proudly served in the United States Army, an honor he carried with him throughout his life. Following his service, he dedicated many years of employment to General Electric (GE) before retiring. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge where he deeply valued fellowship, service, and community.
A liver transplant recipient, Terry was profoundly grateful for the gift of life and honored that gratitude through volunteer work with CORE and Donate Life, supporting organ donation awareness and education.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, planting flowers, and traveling. He especially loved hosting family and friends, sharing meals, and spending time with those closest to him.
Above all, he cherished his family. He shared more than 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda, until her passing. He was a devoted father to his children and a proud grandfather to his two grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, patriotism, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda S. Cassatt; his parents: Darwin “Gene” and Mable Cassatt; his brother: Patrick Cassatt; and his sisters: Susan Cassatt and Lois (Arthur) Quinn.
He is survived by his children: Christine Salva and David E. Cassatt; two grandchildren: Katelyn and Zachary Salva; one sister: Mary Jane (Bill) Campbell. He is also survived by one niece: Stephanie (Jeremy); nephew: Sean (Lisa); and many extended family members and friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and caregivers who provided compassionate care during his final illness.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 11am to 1pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing beginning at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Donate Life or a veterans’ organization in his memory. Interment will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ohl, Jefferson Co., PA.
