Nancy O. Porrin, age 85 of Falls Creek, PA died Monday, July 20, 2026 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born on April 20, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Doris (O’Donnell) Emerick.
On June 28, 1958 she married David A. Porrin, Sr. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2012.
Nancy retired from the Hampton Inn DuBois in housekeeping after twelve years of service. She had also worked in housekeeping at both the Best Western in DuBois and Sheetz in Falls Creek. She was a bartender at the Gunsmoke in Falls Creek for twenty years. Nancy was the first female bartender at the Falls Creek Eagles, and the first female President of the Falls Creek Eagles # 965.
As a young girl, Nancy had a love for riding horses. This is how she met Dave. In recent years, Nancy enjoyed road trips with friends, socializing with friends while eating her favorite foods and having a cold IC Light. Nancy was fond of Bar Bingo, playing rip tickets, and watching a good western. Nancy loved her pets (Barney, Cookie, and Peppy).
She is survived by her children (Sharon M. Lingenfelter of Reynoldsville, PA, Ruth Ann Strosky and her husband Thomas of DuBois, PA, Ronald B. Porrin and his wife Renee, William P. Porrin, and John F. Porrin, all of Falls Creek, PA, son-in-law Thomas Gilbert, Sr. of DuBois, PA, grandchildren (Tina, Julie, Stacey, Carrie, David Jr., Jamie, Justin, Cody, Nancy, Sue Ann, Kimberly, Tommy Jr., Angela, Kelly, Jessica, Shane, Richard, and Michael), 51 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by one son (David A. Porrin, Jr.), two daughters (Susan Porrin, and Diana Gilbert), two grandsons TJ (Thomas) Strosky, and Ronald Porrin, Jr., and two great granddaughters (Kiara Valentine and Ruby Porrin).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 1 PM from the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Brooks officiating.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
