1928-2026
Delores R. “Dee” Caliguire, 97, of Punxsutawney, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 16, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 22, 1928, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Rose Marie (Ferra) and Pellegrino Rotolo.
On October 10, 1953, she married William A. Caliguire, who preceded her in death on August 10, 2014.
She was a Punxsutawney High School class of 1946 graduate. Dee worked for Sylvania in Brookville and then retired from Rola-Jensen in Punxsutawney.
Dee was a member of SS Cosmas and Damian Church of Punxsutawney and the Rosary Altar Society.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. Dee took great joy in baking, often making her Italian Easter Papoose Bread, blueberry pies, and holiday cookies with her grandchildren. She lovingly crocheted many afghans and made each of her grandchildren their own blankets and dolls. Dee had a fondness for knitting, sewing, cooking, bowling, dancing, traveling, casino trips, and family cruises. She and her husband marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a special cruise surrounded by their family. She also cherished her time at the Mahoning Hills Senior Center, where she enjoyed taking part in many activities.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Larkin of DuBois, Doreen Gotwald and husband Rick of Punxsutawney, and Susan Mitchell and husband Dan of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren, Justin Larkin and wife Sara, Julie Larkin, Theresa Gotwald, Ryan Gotwald and wife Jolene, Lee Mitchell and wife Carissa, and Erin Hunger and husband John; ten great grandchildren, Fox and Gemma Larkin, Ariana, Anthony, Ezra, Desmond, and Simon Mitchell, Hudson and Hal Gotwald, and Nora Hunger; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her dedicated caregivers who provided her with much support and comfort in her recent years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Grace Infantino, Ida Villella, Virginia Kulju, Carl Rotolo, Joseph Rotolo, Florence Gagliardi, and Albert Rotolo, son-in-law, David Larkin, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at SS. Cosmas and Damian Church with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
