1940-2026
Andrew Ehmann was born on May 12, 1940 in the war-torn country of Latvia. Within the first year of his life, he was orphaned and was put into the protective care of Lutheran nuns. In 1949, he was flown to the United States from Germany and was officially adopted by Matilda and Howard C. Ehmann in 1950. He spent the majority of his youth on the Ehmann family farm in Fairmount, NJ. After serving two years in the military, he attended the Philadelphia School of Bible. He married Audrey Mikolon in 1965 and settled in Tewksbury Township, NJ. He eventually fathered two daughters, Andrea and Amy. During this time, he worked several jobs but eventually worked for the Tewksbury Township school system until his retirement. In 1984, he married for a second time to Shirley Batson Huff and became a stepfather to Thomas, Kirk, Robert, and Richard. During their time together, they lived in New Jersey, Florida, and Pennsylvania. No matter where he lived, Andrew was the kind of person you would want for a neighbor- quick to lend a hand and to give a smile. Relying heavily on his faith, he lived a life of service and deeply believed in God’s plan. He was an active church member and took comfort in sharing God’s word. Working hard but still enjoying a good laugh, he was happiest when he had purpose and when he was outdoors. He had a remarkable green thumb and could fix just about anything. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed the company of others- especially on his front porch with a cup of coffee, or a cold one, in his hand. Andrew died peacefully on June 21, 2026.
Andrew was preceded in death by his daughter Andrea Ehmann, his parents Matilda and Howard C. Ehmann, his sister Caroline Ehmann and his brother Howard Ehmann.
He is survived by his daughter Amy Del Coro, his grandchildren Anthony and Brendan Del Coro, his brother Peter J. Ehmann, his step sons Thomas Huff, Kirk Huff and wife Gabrella, Robert Huff and wife Alison, Richard Huff, and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
