Mary Shirley (Crawford) Sprague, 89, of DuBois, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Born on January 9, 1937, in Reynoldsville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. Crawford and Pearl E. (Bussard) Crawford. Mary was a 1954 graduate of DuBois Area High School. Mary married Richard C. Sprague on February 22, 1958, he preceded her in passing on January 13, 2016. She dedicated more than 21 years of service to DuBois Regional Medical Center, where she worked in the Dietary Department until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois. Mary enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Mark) Lopez of DuBois; her granddaughter, Alysha (Shawn) Spickler of Belleville; and her beloved great-grandson, Levi Jay Spickler. She is also survived by her siblings, David (Sally) Crawford, of Falls Creek; Lois (Fred) Norton of Lancaster; and Sandra Hetrick of Reynoldsville.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death byher son, Kenneth A. Sprague, who passed away on August 13, 2020; and her brother, James Lee Crawford Sr., who passed away on March 12, 2022.
Family and friends will be received at Christ Lutheran Church, 875 Sunflower Drive, DuBois, PA 15801, on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 3-4pm. A Funeral service will take place immediately following beginning at 4:00PM. Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park.
