PIAA Baseball and Softball Playoffs:
5A Baseball – The DuBois Beavers are headed to the state final after beating the Hollidaysburg Tigers 4-1 Monday evening.
The Beavers will now play against Greencastle-Antrim for the championship this Friday at 4:30 in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park at Penn State University in State College.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates played their first game against the LA Dodgers last night with a strong two point lead start. Both teams went into the 7th inning tied 2-2 where the Dodgers scored 10 runs. The Bucs could not catch up and lost the game 12-3.
They play once again tonight at 6:40pm. You can listen to the Bucs with the pregame show on ConnectFM at 6:15pm.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve will be starting a 5 game bout against the Chesapeake Baysox today, first pitch is at 6pm.
