DuBois – The City of DuBois has recognized a group of local heroes after their quick actions helped save a man’s life in April.
Stephen James collapsed while exercising at the DuBois YMCA, at which point staff members, medical professionals, police officers, and EMS crews rushed to help, performing CPR and using an AED within minutes.
James, a former paramedic himself, had a simple message for those who saved his life.
“There’s no words for this,” stated James. “You guys saved my life. It’s that simple.”
The DuBois City Council honored everyone involved at Wednesday night’s meeting and celebrated James’ recovery.
