Burton Bennett Obituary

Burton A. Bennett, age 94, a lifelong Walburn Run Road Brockway, PA resident, currently a resident at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, died on Monday June 1, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on September 29, 1931 in Brandy Camp, PA; he was the son of the late James Franklin and Daisy Ellen Reed Bennett. On June 28, 1952 he was married to Bernice M. Stubbs and she preceded him in death on October 2, 2017. Retired, Burton had been employed as a Kiln Loader at Stackpole Carbon in St Marys, PA. He was a member of the Lanes Mills Global Methodist Church. Burton loved to watch football and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin, Steeler and Pirate fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking walks with his grandchildren. He is survived by sons David (Donna) Bennett of DuBois; James (Denise) Bennett and Michael (JoAnn) Bennett both of Brockway. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way. In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by brothers Leonard, Keith, Williard and Donovan Bennett, one great granddaughter and one great grandson. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway and again on Thursday June 4 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM also at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM with Bob Cherubini officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the Brandy Camp Cemetery.
