Joseph Ralph Carswell, Jr., Age 66 of DuBois, PA died Friday, May 29, 2026 at his home.
Born on April 28, 1960 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of Joseph R. and Mary (Tyler) Carswell, Sr. his father preceded him in death his mother survives and lives in North Carolina.
Joe loved to play chess and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by two children (Raheem Cooper of New Jersey, and Shaina Mathis and her husband Sean of DuBois, PA), six grandchildren (Jay Coleman, Shamer Hall, Mari Gary, and Nasir, Nyasia, and Nijah Cooper), a brother (Nate Carswel), and his partner of 40 years, Gloria Coleman.
He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Carswell and two sisters ( Danella and Sheryl Carswell).
There will be no public visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc is in charge of arrangements.
