DUBOIS – The DuBois City Council has approved up to $42,000 for herbicide work in a part of the city’s watershed.
Forestry consultant Kenny Kane said that this treatment would help prepare for future timber harvests by targeting invasive plants and species harming young hardwood trees.
“The main purpose of doing this is to get rid of those non-desirable and invasive plants so that it gives our desirable tree species that we want to grow,” explained Kane
Kane also told council the treatment is considered the most cost-effective option and said safeguards will be in place to protect water quality and nearby wildlife.
