1950-2026
Kareen Theresa Jackson, 76, of Big Run, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.
She was born in DuBois on January 26, 1950, a daughter of the late Edward Mac Boyle and Helen (Knouse) Boyle.
Following graduation, she worked at Jackson China in Falls Creek. It was there that she met the love of her life, Christopher James “Jim” Jackson. The two fell in love and married one another on March 2, 1973. It was a love story, complete opposites at times, yet perfect together. They recently celebrated fifty-three years of being inseparable.
Kareen was a member of the former St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Big Run. She had a strong Christian faith and remained faithful in her daily devotions.
Her greatest accomplishment in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She absolutely adored her family and particularly her grandson Ryan James, who was the apple of her eye. She was his number one fan, strongest supporter and loved him beyond measure.
For those who knew Kareen, could testify that she was loud and present everywhere she went. She loved people and talking. She was always full of joy, laughter and was incredibly comforting to others. She had compassion, and took the time to genuinely listen to people in a manner in which they felt heard and understood. Kareen loved unconditionally.
In addition to her husband Jim, she is survived by her beloved daughter, Christi A. (Trail Beer) Jarbeck of Big Run; her dear grandson, Ryan James Jarbeck of Big Run; one brother, Kevin (Kath) Boyle of Falls Creek; one sister, Krissandra Wingert of Falls Creek; sister in-law, Tressie (Maurice) Weber of Reynoldsville; several nieces and nephews.
