1947-2026
Barbara F. Augustino, 78, Wexford, died Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA.
She was born August 23, 1947, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Faye E. (Young) and James E. Martz.
On October 18, 1969, in Paulsboro, New Jersey, she married the late Anthony W. Augustino, who preceded her in death on May 14, 2014.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Edwards.
Barbara was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School and furthered her education earning her Bachelor Degree of Education from Waynesburg College. After her graduation from college, she worked as a substitute teacher until she focused on raising her family.
Barbara's family was of utmost importance to her, and her grandchildren held an especially cherished place in her heart — she delighted in every moment spent with them. She had a nurturing and caring soul, evident in her love of gardening and her devotion to those around her.
Her adventurous spirit took her and Anthony to Europe, where they lived for two years, an experience that deepened her lifelong love of travel and exploring new places and cultures. In quieter moments, Barbara could be found lost in a good book or working through a challenging puzzle, a pastime she thoroughly enjoyed. She will be remembered for her joy, kindness, and warm friendship — she had a gift for turning ordinary days into celebrations filled with warmth, love, and laughter.
She is survived by three children, Anthony J. Augustino and fiancée Tatiana of Norfolk, VA, Jason W. Augustino and wife Adrienne of Phoenix, MD, and Ciara F. Regan and husband Keith of Cranberry Township, PA; six grandchildren, Nathan and Nicholas Augustino, Lillian and Emma Augustino, and Mitchell and Miranda Regan.
Friends will be received from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Deeley Funeral Home of Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation beginning at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in St. James Cemetery in Ringgold, PA.
