Lynne D. Hughes, age 74, of Brockway, PA; passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, May 11, 2026. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born on September 9, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio; and received an elementary education teaching degree from Cleveland State University. On June 23, 1973 she married Terry W. Hughes in Parma Hts; Ohio and they moved to Brockway where they have resided for almost 53 years. She is survived by her husband Terry, and three sons; Chris (Katie) Hughes, Craig (Jessica) Hughes, and Cory (Hiliary) Hughes. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Bradey, Ana, JT, Aiden, Haley, Kyle, Alex, Harper and Henry. She loved her church, and helped with Sunday school, vacation bible school, girl scouts and cub scouts. She also loved teaching and taught 4th grade for three years at Fox Township Elementary School in Kersey, PA until her son Chris was born. She then returned to full time teaching in Brockway after 17 years of raising children, until 2002 when she retired because of her health. Lynne enjoyed cross-stitching and crocheting, planting flowers, and camping. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 17 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, May 18th at 11:00 AM at the Moorhead Methodist Church also in Brockway, with Pastor Andy Verner officiating. A lunch will follow in the church social hall. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Brockway. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
