DUBOIS – DuBois Area School District leaders are celebrating a standout historic year for athletics.
DuBois Athletic Director Dew Spicher says that the girls soccer team reached the state semifinals for the first time ever, setting a record with 19 wins and becoming the first DuBois soccer team to host and win a playoff game.
Two local wrestlers also placed fourth at states, with Mateo Gallegos defeating the nation’s top-ranked wrestler during regional competition.
Football, basketball, and baseball players also broke multiple school and district records this year including all-time leading scorer, most career three-point field goals, most career touchdown passes and all-time hits leader.
“They all represent DuBois Area the right way and we could not be more proud of the success that they are having in all arenas,” explained Spicher.
