DUBOIS – Downtown DuBois has gained national recognition after being designated as a 2026 Accredited Main Street America program.
Executive Director of Downtown DuBois Shirley Dahrouge tells us that this status means more support for local businesses, events, and improvements that can boost the downtown area.
“It also is viewed favorably for funders and government agencies that gives us a stronger hold to receive grants and funding opportunities,” explained Dahrouge. “It also gives us access to a national network of other communities nationwide that are focused on preservation based economic development.“
This designation puts Downtown DuBois among 838 recognized main street organizations nationally.
