DUBOIS – The DuBois Salvation Army has expanded how it serves you with a new kitchen, storage area, and classroom space.
After years of fundraising and planning, Captain Andrew Spooner says the much needed upgrade will help feed hundreds more people while giving the organization more room to serve the community and respond during emergencies and disasters.
“To be able to serve people, cook healthier food for them, cook bigger capacity, serve more people, that’s our heart,” explained Captain Spooner. “We want to serve the most people that we can, do the most good in our community. “
The $1.7 million dollar project was made possible through grants, donations, and years of savings.
With plans to expand feeding services beyond their current three day schedule, leaders are looking for your help, either through volunteering or donations to make it possible.
