Sharon Lynn Seger, 63, of Punxsutawney passed away on May 8th, 2026 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.
She was born on July 29, 1962, a daughter of the late Lawrence Ray Gaston, and Gladys Evelyn (Milliron) Gaston.
On November 1 1980, Sharon married the love of her life, Calvin Seger. They enjoyed over 45 years of marriage together.
Mrs. Seger was a 1981 graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School.
Sharon faithfully attended the Canoe Ridge Church of God. Her faith was a cornerstone in her life, bringing her peace and strength through life’s difficult moments.
She was employed by the Punxsutawney Country Club, where she worked as a bartender for many years. In recent times, she found joy in babysitting her grandchildren, and looking after her family.
Mrs. Seger’s family was her life. She was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she truly lived for those moments. She loved playing cards and bingo, and especially enjoyed swimming.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Gladys Gaston.
She is survived by husband, Calvin Seger of Rochester Mills; daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Maxim of Reynoldsville; son, Chad (Julie) Seger of Rochester Mills; grandchildren, Alexia, Riley, and Myles Maxim, and Seth and Lucas Seger; brother Lawrence “Buck” (Robin) Gaston; sisters, Sally (Clint) Shields, and Michelle Gaston; brother in- law Gary Seger; sister in-law Lisa Seger (Eric Goss); many nieces and nephews; and her furry friend Mykie.
Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12th at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday May 13th at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Punk Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Sharon’s honor to the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
