DUBOIS – Two men are being called heroes after saving a life in DuBois.
At last night’s city council meeting, Tony Volpe and Kolten Bojalad were honored for their quick reactions when a kayaker flipped into frigid water in Treasure Lake.
Mayor Barry Abbot praised the two men for using nearby kayaks to save the person while first responders were on route.
“The heroic actions of these two men directly resulted in the preservation of a human life,” explained Mayor Abbot.
The council also recognized previous council members, township supervisors, management, and dozens of others for their roles in the consolidation of DuBois and Sandy Township. This follows a recent award given to the city for the achievement.
