BROCKWAY – The day before prom, Brockway students were faced with a harsh reality, what can happen when you drive impaired.
A staged DUI crash put students in the middle of the consequences, with emergency crews responding, victims rushed away, and one student placed in a body bag.
Senior Phoebe, who was the impaired driver in the simulation, says this is a real eye opener.
“Even just getting the makeup on, it’s kind of a crazy feeling thinking like this happens to real people,” explained Phoebe. “And then when you’re the one in the car, it’s kind of just like, wow, that could actually be me. And then watching my friends, like my best friend got zipped up in a body bag, it’s just really eye-opening to think that this happens to real people every single day.”
